Meet Deborah Jane, the heart and hands behind Debby’s Bakery.
Where passion
became craft.
Deborah Jane’s culinary journey began at the Sheraton Kampala Hotel in Uganda. She went on to run her own restaurant and bakery, developing the baking and decorating skills that continue to shape her work.
After resettling in the United States in 2016, Debby began baking for neighbours in Columbus in 2019. That personal love of baking grew into Debby’s Bakery, serving families, couples, businesses, churches and event planners.

Before building her life in Columbus, Deborah spent a decade developing her craft at the Sheraton Kampala Hotel and went on to run her own restaurant and bakery.
In 2014, she survived a life-altering attack and underwent 27 reconstructive surgeries. Through years of recovery, her passion for baking and decorating remained part of her vision for the future.
Resettling in America in 2016 opened a new chapter. Baking for neighbours in 2019 grew into a public bakery by 2024—a way to rebuild, reconnect and share something joyful.
Today, her story continues through the celebrations she helps create and the skills she shares with fellow immigrants and aspiring bakers.
